One voice, many worlds

Marseille · Paris · the world

At the crossroads of Vietnamese and Caribbean cultures, singer, songwriter and composer Kristel Adams has a rare gift: the power to touch emotions and bring them together.

By turns warm, commanding, grieving or comforting, her voice captures the intensity of every moment and follows each of its nuances with deep sincerity.

Her musical world draws on gospel, soul, jazz, classical and world music. Shaped by her multicultural roots and her travels, she sings in many languages and explores the spiritual and poetic traditions of different cultures, turning every performance into a meeting place for peoples, beliefs and sensibilities.

She draws on major influences such as Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway, Whitney Houston and George Benson, whom she accompanied in 2009 on his tribute tour to Nat King Cole. She is also inspired by the great figures of French chanson — Jacques Brel, Charles Aznavour, Édith Piaf — building a natural bridge between cultures, languages and eras.

Over the years, Kristel Adams has broadened her experience in the studio and on stage alongside French and international artists such as Manu Dibango and Mory Kanté. She has forged an artistic signature where technical rigour, emotional depth and openness to the world meet — while staying true to who she is.
